Tanaji the great Maratha warrior. He fought alongside Maratha King Shivaji in various battles throughout the years. He is most famously known for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad.
In 1670, Tanaji, who hailed from "Umrat" near Mahad, Kokan was busy making preparations for his son, Rayaba's wedding when he was summoned by Shivaji for a meeting. Tanaji put the wedding plans on hold and immediately left for the meeting. On hearing Shivaji’s plan to recapture Kondhana fort near Pune from the Mughals, Tanaji took charge of the campaign and started his preparations. This statement is famous as ‘Adhi lagin kondhanyach mag majhya raibacha’ meaning first getting fort and then the marriage of my child.
Fierce combat took place between the forces of Tanaji and Udaybhan. Tanaji was gravely wounded and died in the hands of Udaybhan Rathod.
Upon hearing the demise of Tanaji, Shivaji was struck with grief and expressed his sorrow by famously saying,
“गड आला पण सिंह गेला “ ("Fort is captured but the lion is lost.")
After a successful launch and the grand success of “SHIVJATASYA” collection which was totally inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the whole designing and the production team of TASTA thought of working on another royal collection in which team had an idea to give a tribute to our selfless great warrior TANAJI. From that, we headed towards our primary research and gathering all the information needed. We didn’t want to go very direct with our design while working on this project that’s why after doing a lot of brainstorming and plenty of time of discussion, we came up with some keywords related to Tanaji which can represent his sincerity towards work, decency in his behavior, his royal heart, and the main thing is his aura.
The collection ‘Tanaji’ has all such things combined in the form of wedding clothing. Where we listed out a variety of silks to represent royalty, fine georgette which represents fineness, some fancy cotton fabrics to show flexibility and purity. On all the pieces where it is saree’s for women or collection for men, our team has paid whole attention to each piece and worked with all intricacy on all the detailing, from khaka’s to doing thread work, zari work or its any type of embroidery. The collection has different patterns in 9 yards for women, whereas for men we have designer all-new anarakali, sherwani, nawabi with variation in styling where we will provide dupatta, feta, shela, matching mojdi and different accessories to match the clothing. The whole piece is designed to balance and complete the look of the bride as well as the groom.
There’s a perfect and affordable designer outfit is available for everyone. Tasta is launching this limited edition collection this season. We hope you won’t miss a chance to choose your attire and make your special day grand.
